The first of Septem-giizis is the Confederation day when the French and the Huron officially united as one. This day is known as Unskat Day or Le jour d’Unskat in French. On this day there are huge festivals and parades that take place all over the community. They have parties and they dance, and they have a potlatch where everyone brings food and treats. This is the most popular holiday because it is the biggest celebration of the year and there is never school on this day, therefore everyone can have a feeling of togetherness.
