1) Identify the challenge you will be presenting to yourself: the research question/s, methods and modes of inquiry, and creative challenge you will engage (with a brief rationale). Why does it matter to you?

I will engage with the idea of using games in education, and my own personal journey with learning through games. I grew up with video games and still actively play them today. I had the pleasure of having Professor Thumlert in three different courses, one in undergrad and two (including this one) while doing my Masters. I have the chance to implement many of the lessons in these three courses, like having the chance of making my own games. I now find myself in a unique situation where I am teaching computer science and coding, with little to no background on the field, I relied on the coding that I learned as a by-product of making my games, and have the students also doing the same, making their own games! For this project, I wanted to make a 'scrapbook' of sorts to narrate my journey with video games, learning, and education. Starting as a kid just playing games, learning to use games directly and together with education to finally being able to implement those teachings.

2) What technology tools will you use to produce your project (what are you going to create? how? what media tools will you use?).

I will be using iBooks author to display my journey. It will allow me to integrated multiple media types like text, images, graphics, videos and much more. Demonstrating in a unique, fun and interactive way my story. I want to demonstrate the games that I played, the games that I made using Twine and RPG maker and finally show some of my student's projects (they are using Twine and Turing to code).

3) Production Plan: Brief sketch or script indicating how you will get this project done (action-plan, next steps, what you need to learn, a schedule/timeline for completion).

I plan to break down the project by first writing the component, finding the media sources afterward and finally putting it all together on the software. I don't directly have access to a Mac computer so I have to ensure to have all the resources and ideas planned before I get to the software as much as possible as my time with a Mac is limited. At the school, I work at they have a computer lab which has all Macs so I will be using time after school to work on it.
