Here are a few examples depicting the way certain common Huron words mixed with French words to create a new dialect:

  • Unskat: one; skat + un
  • Tindeux: two; tindee + deux
  • Trenk: three; shenk + trois
  • Andatre: four; anduak + quatre
  • Weeinq: five; weeish + cinq
  • Onnomme: man; onnonhou + homme
  • Ontehmme: woman; ontehtian + femme
  • Saundeau: water; saundustee + eau

Days of the Week

  • Lundi + ishkwaa-anama’e-giizhigad = lungad
  • Mardi + niizho-giizhigad = margad
  • Mercredi + aabitawise = mercrewise
  • Jeudi + niiwo-giizhigad = Jeugad
  • Vendredi + naano-giizhigad = Vengad
  • Samedi + giziibiigisaginige-giizhigad = Samegad
